At this time of holiday celebration and year-end reflections, I want to take a moment to thank you for your support of OpenNotes.
It is our aim every day of the year to promote transparency in health care through collaborating with clinicians, hospitals, health systems, EHR vendors, and patients. In our fast-paced world where information is exchanged in real time on every topic, in every venue, promoting information sharing is at the core of our mission at OpenNotes.
As 2018 comes to a close we want to celebrate this year’s milestones with you—our OpenNotes champions, long-time supporters, and those who have just learned about us.
- OpenNotes is now in all 50 states!
- Over 9 million patients, across 53 health systems, gained access to their notes online this year. Bringing the number of patients with access to their notes today to over 34 million.
- We debuted a new series of webinars called OpenNotes: Grand Rounds where we discuss lessons learned, opportunities and challenges that come with sharing or reading visit notes.
- OpenNotes has been mentioned in 383 media publications, and
- The California OpenNotes Consortium was formed and launched. California clinicians, health system leaders and patient advocates meet via video/teleconference with the goal of sharing tips and data on effective OpenNotes implementations.
